About Me
I am a multi-award-winning screenwriter and director who has produced multiple short films and music videos over the past five years. My films have been fortunate enough to win awards, including the BFI Network Award for Best Film 2022.
My films to date have centred around subjects such as psychology and mental illness. Subjects with which I have had a continued fascination. I find these subjects inspiring due to their complexity and universal nature with which we can all connect to on some level. Whether it is grief, loneliness or depression, to a varying extent we all experience these feelings at some time in our lives. Therefore to better understand them, for the past few years I have used the medium of film to explore this subject in its multitude of areas. This has also coupled very well with my drive to explore the art of experimental filmmaking. My ultimate goal is to grow stronger in the medium and find a way to marry experimental filmmaking techniques with more conventional cinema, as I aspire to write and direct feature films in the future.
While continuing to explore these topics mainly through the genre of drama, I am keen also to further explore directing more comedy, which is something I have recently done for a short film written by a screenwriter colleague of mine, which is now in post-production.
Finally, I have recently directed several music videos. The ability to experiment with creating stories where the music is at the centre of the visual is something that is fueling my imagination in a far more free-flowing manner. This is making music videos, another medium I wish to explore in more depth. Whether it is psychological drama, comedy or music videos, my work is driven by a deep love for cinema, a passion for storytelling and a constant search for new and exciting techniques.
